She wasn't expecting a baby but they meticulously rehearsed for the day when she would eventually give birth to one in a pool of warm water.  The wife insisted that her husband (Gibson) cut the rubber garden hose which served as the umbilical cord.   The visiting mother-in-law videotaped their practice runs.
